Talent Focus Education has partnered with a Christian school in regional Queensland to recruit an experienced and values-driven Head of Secondary to lead Years 7–12. This is a unique opportunity to step into a senior leadership role within a small, close-knit Secondary setting of approximately 45 students, where relationships are strong, class sizes are genuinely small, and leaders have the time and space to make a meaningful impact. With enrolments expected to grow, the school is entering an exciting phase of development. About the Role Reporting to the Executive Principal, the Head of Secondary plays a key role in shaping both the academic direction and pastoral culture of the Secondary School. You will lead a committed team of educators and work closely with families to ensure every student is known, supported and challenged to succeed academically, socially and spiritually. This role will suit an experienced educational leader who values connection, collaboration and holistic student development. Key Responsibilities Lead teaching and learning across Years 7–12 Oversee QCAA curriculum administration, assessment endorsement and compliance Drive academic tracking, progress monitoring and continuous improvement Lead student wellbeing, behaviour and pastoral care processes Support Senior pathways including SET Plans and tertiary applications Develop, mentor and inspire Secondary teaching staff Build strong relationships with students, families and the wider school community Maintain a visible, hands-on leadership presence across classrooms and school life About You Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration Proven experience in Secondary teaching and leadership Strong working knowledge of QCAA requirements Confident people leader with a collaborative leadership style Passionate about student wellbeing and academic growth Committed to Christian education and values-based leadership Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder engagement skills A postgraduate qualification in Educational Leadership is desirable but not essential.
